Liverpool To Make January Assault For £24m Speedster – reports

Liverpool could be set to make a £24 million bid for Italy international and Lazio winger Antonio Candreva in January, as reported by Italian news source Tutto Mercato Web.

Brendan Rodgers’s side have been hit by an injury to Daniel Sturridge this week, and he may have reassessed his squad and decided that he requires more forward options if he wants to achieve his goals this season.

The 27 year old Candreva failed to impress for Italy this week, but he is highly regarded for his technical ability on the ball and his pace, two assets that Rodgers seems to rank highly in players in forward positions in his side.

Candreva has had a long and storied career in Italian football. He began his career with Ternana before moving to Udinese, although he made only three appearances for them.

During his time with Udinese, he spent time on loan with Livorno, Juventus, Parma and Cesena, before moving to Lazio on loan in 2012. Lazio then purchased him permanently in 2013 €1.7 million, and he has gone on to impress further.
