Arsenal Could Make Bid After €37m World Cup Winner Hints At Move Away

Arsenal have been put on red alert after Mario Gotze, who Arsene Wenger is known to be an admirer of, has hinted that he would be interested in a move abroad in the future, as reported by The Metro.

In an interview with the German newspaper Bild, Gotze said that while he is currently happy to be playing at Bayern Munich, who signed him from Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund prior to the start of last season, he would be interested in a move away from his homeland in the future.

The Arsenal manager Wenger has tried to sign Gotze in the past, making two bids to buy him while he was with Dortmund, where he started his career.

With Gotze clearly thinking about a future away from Bayern, Wenger might be tempted into making another move for a player that he clearly rates.

Gotze said: “I am very happy to be playing at Bayern.

“But I might play for another 14 years and a move abroad would not be a bad thing. A foreign country would also be tempting for someone of my personality.”

While he has had success at Bayern, winning the Bundesliga last season and scoring the winning goal in the World Cup final this summer, Gotze is yet to fully establish himself under Pep Guardiola at the Bavarian giants.
