Arsenal Set To Confirm Deal For £37m Midfield Machine This Week – reports

Arsenal are on the cusp of finally agreeing a move for Sporting Lisbon’s midfield dynamo William Carvalho, with the hope in north London that they can finalise a deal with the Portuguese club for his transfer this week, as reported by The Metro.

The north London club are set to hold discussions with the president of Sporting Lisbon this week in order to finalise a transfer fee for the player.

Manager Arsene Wenger has highlighted Carvalho as a key target for the Gunners, and the club made several bids for him over the summer, including one on deadline day when a new move for him was rejected by Lisbon club.

Portuguese newspaper Record are now saying that talks are set to take place this week, with Wenger keen on finalising an agreement for the star.

Despite Carvalho having a buyout clause of £37 million, Arsenal should be able to secure him for less money, with Sporting looking to raise money. The Iberian club are well aware that the player wants the move, and are not particularly looking to hinder that.

  1. You should read the original source before posting mate. Here is the original article:

Bruno de Carvalho, is already in Manchester to attend the event, Soccerex Global Convention. However, the trip to England would not be wasted on talk that the president will give tomorrow on “how to run a successful club.”

The green and white leader will use this event to promote various contacts, some of which possibly decisive for future negotiations or partnerships. That is, beyond the presence of several personalities of world football this event – cases of Joseph Blatter, Fabio Cannavaro, Ian Ayre (Liverpool CEO), Ebru Koksal (director of Galatasaray), Luís Vicente (Valencia director) or Ryan Giggs (assistant coach Man United.) – there is also the fact that, for example, William Carvalho has been on the radar of Arsenal and Manchester United at the last closed …

  2. Oh come on now. It’s in Metro so it must be true. Never thought I’d see the day when someone would surpass The Mail with utter nonsense reporting.

  3. Doesn’t matter whether the transfer window is closed or not. Clubs work on deals behind the scenes all the time. Hope my team arsenal will get carvalho. Very good player

  4. I pray Wenger to surprise the enemy of Arsenal the way he did the business of Wellbeck. We use what we earn, Arsenal will never run a deficit account or go bankruptsy, the club cut its cloth according to its size, we will never buy title, so expect surprises from Wenger. ln Wenger we trust always.
