25-Year-Old Liverpool Star Set For Wage Doubling Contract Bonanza – reports

Liverpool star Daniel Sturridge is set to see his Anfield deal doubled, with the striker set to be offered a bumper new deal to keep him on Merseyside, as reported by the Daily Express.

Sturridge has hit incredible heights since moving to Liverpool from Chelsea in January 2013, despite initial doubts over his signing among football experts.

He has rewarded Brendan Rodgers for his faith and use in his preferred central role by putting away a stunning 35 goals in only a year and a half of football, despite suffering a series of unfortunate knocks.

There are now reports suggesting that the Anfield club are set to double his current wages in order to tie him down to a longer deal, with an increased wage to £140,000 a week for Sturridge seemingly on the cards.

Sturridge suffered an injury on international duty with England, and there will be significant hopes on Merseyside that he can recover swiftly, although the addition of Mario Balotelli towards the end of the window makes that less important.
