Liverpool And Arsenal Eye 12 Goal Dutch Dynamo – Reports

Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs are all interested in Schalke’s Klass-Jan Huntelaar, but the German side are expected to put together a new contract for the Dutch striker before his current deal expires at the end of the season, as reported by the Daily Express.

Huntelaar could have moved to Arsenal on deadline day until Arsene Wenger was informed that Danny Welbeck was available to sign from Manchester United for only £16 million.

Schalke have seen Huntelaar become a key player for the side since his arrival from AC Milan in 2010, and he scored 12 goals in only 18 games for the club in the Bundesliga last season. They are loath to lose him on a free transfer at the end of the season, and are expected to put fresh terms in front of him.

Spurs are also keen on the striker, which is no surprise given their lack of options up front. Liverpool are also thought to be interested, despite the addition of Mario Balotelli.

The 31 year old has yet to decide if his future remains with Schalke, and could make the move to the Premier League, having played for the likes of Ajax and Real Madrid already in his career.
