£51.5m Duo Set To Make Man Utd Debuts – Reports

Louis van Gaal is reportedly keen on handing Luke Shaw and Marcos Rojo their Man Utd debuts in the clash against Queens Park Rangers, as reported by the Daily Star.

Argentina defender Rojo moved to Man Utd last month for £20 million from Sporting Lisbon, but issues with his work permit stopped him from making his debut for the club prior to the international break. As a result, the defender missed the games against Sunderland, MK Dons and Burnley, three games of the four that Man Utd have failed to win in.

Rojo has, however, now been granted a work permit by the British Embassy in Madrid, and can finally make his debut against QPR when the Premier League season resumes.

Shaw, who Man Utd signed from Southampton for a fee of £31.5 million, is also in line to make his debut after recovering from a hamstring injury that ruled him out for the first month of the season.

If Van Gaal sticks with his 3-5-2 formation, Shaw will likely line up as a wing-back, with Rojo in central defence.
