Leeds Fan Defender Set To Join Club, Pending Medical, In Dramatic U-Turn – Reports

Leeds have apparently agreed a fee with Chesterfield for the transfer of defender Liam Cooper, and the deal will be completed, pending a medical, as reported by Graeme Bailey of Sky Sports.

This comes as something of a u-turn after the Whites pulled out of a move for the Chesterfield defender, having failed to reach an agreement over a realistic transfer fee with the League One side.

Cooper may have pushed through a deal, however, with the former Huddersfield Town loanee having supported Leeds since childhood. Cooper reportedly made it clear that he wanted to move to the Championship side at the time of Leeds’s second transfer bid, but Chesterfield turned it down.

The young defender has been pinpointed as the ideal replacement for Tom Lees, who has moved to Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday.

Leeds require significant defensive recruits, and also look set to add Guiseppe Bellusci on loan from Catania. A move for Frederik Sorensen collapsed last week.

    1. Makes all the difference in the World when you have an owner that actually watches the matches and can see first hand where the problem lies. The problem thisxyear is tgat Cellino has just too many deals tomget over tge line in a short time. Hopefully thingsxwill not be as chaotic future years and Cellino will understand tge Championship better. Still think that he is doing OKnthough

  1. Looks like cellino has realised he’s not in italy anymore.. what flys there wont fly here. Im sick of all this eastenders style recruitment.. Its turning into a gutter press bonanza and its humiliating. Its ok to go and have a pint with fans to bond but if ur guna spoil that by making the entire club look like a laughing stock ur guna end up with pints poured over your head rather then shared with you..

    1. Too right… Cellino needs to stop shooting bullshit from the hip at times and exhibit some professional credentials.
This is not the OK CORAL… This is LEEDS UNITED…

  2. Mr Cellino now get Billy Sharp, a proven winger and a ‘bite your legs’ midfielder in then when we meet Millwall again in February wallop them 5-0.
