Leeds United Chase £1.8m Hitman – Reports

Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing Southampton striker Billy Sharp, with the former Doncaster Rovers star having no place in new manager Ronald Koeman’s plans, as reported by Teamtalk.

The Elland Road club are on the market for a new striker after the departure of the prolific Ross McCormack, who joined Fulham for a reported fee of £11 million after scoring 29 goals for Leeds last season.

Sharp is a talented Championship level striker and joined Southampton in 2012 for £1.8 million, aiding them in getting over the line and securing promotion to the Premier League.

He spent last year on loan at Reading and Doncaster Rovers, scoring six goals in 22 games, but a significant number of those appearances at Reading came from the bench. The year prior, he scored 10 goals in 39 games for an unsettled Nottingham Forest side.

Leeds face Millwall in their first Championship game of the new season on Saturday.
