Liverpool Consider Signing £24m South American Wing Wonder – Reports

Liverpool could be the beneficiaries of Paris Saint Germain’s huge move for Real Madrid’s Angel Di Maria, as they seek to sign Ezequiel Lavezzi on a cut price deal, as reported by the Daily Express.

The Spanish news source Marca have suggested that Lavezzi will be one of the players the French champions seek to offload to fund Di Maria’s huge £63m transfer from the Champions League winners. This is as a result of a need to avoid hitting Financial Fair Play regulations.

Liverpool have been regularly linked with a move for Lavezzi, and they may have turned to him after QPR forward Loic Remy supposedly failed a medical.

The Anfield club need to improve their attacking choices after the sale of talismanic striker Luis Suarez. They have been left with Daniel Sturridge, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini as their only true strikers.

Lavezzi is available for only £18m, however, and having helped PSG to the title, scoring nine in the process, he would greatly improve Liverpool’s options going forward.

With the £75m sale of Luis Suarez confirmed, Rodgers has more funds to play with, and Lavezzi, at his price, would allow more alterations to the squad to be made before the season comes around.

  1. Goal getters or scorers? I don’t mind any. All liverpool need is a player that can fit into Brendan Roggers tactics and style up front.

  2. Can anyone visiting this site speak English..proper like wot I do!
‘Would love Lavezzi at LFC, he is a street fighter like Suarez, but not as talented..Suarez Lite!

  3. Liverpool need a replacement goalkeeper and should have signed Lukasz Fabianski when he became available. Mignolet is very weak.
