Celtic, QPR, Aston Villa all chasing Leeds’s Tom Lees

Young defender Tom Lees is being chased by a whole host of sides, according to Sky Sports.

Lees, who is considered one of the best defensive prospects outside of the Premier League, has particularly engaged the interest of Champions League side Celtic, who are leading the chase for the youngster.

Villa and QPR are also interested, but Neil Warnock will likely be loath to lose a centre back he rates so highly, and one he has compared to Phil Jagielka repeatedly in his time at Elland Road.

However, rumours emanating from the club in recent weeks have pointed to a wholesale reconstruction this window, possibly funded by a significant player departure. With the likes of Becchio and Byram, two of the more realistic transfers out of the club, so highly rated by the Leeds fan base, it seems almost impossible that either of these two would depart. Lees, a defender, would likely cause less uproar were he to leave Elland Road, despite this author’s reticence to see him do so. Warnock would probably also be fine with the notion of replacing him with a more experienced defender.

This alone probably lends credence to this rumour above others surrounding the likes of Becchio and Byram.

  1. The hotel will close its doors this week. His dedication to invention and his dedication to physical activities
of taking the stairs are two very admirable and very rare traits.
